Wednesday is drag night. Thursday is karaoke and R20 shots. Friday and Saturday the DJ takes the room. No cover charge on any of it — this is a bar with a stage, not a club with a queue.

There is no cover charge and no guest list. You walk in. What there is, is a limited number of seats in a room that has been the same size since 1994, and on a Wednesday they go from about eight o’clock.
Eat first. The kitchen runs until 10pm, so ordering a burger or a platter before the show starts is the standard move, and it secures your table for the evening. Trying to order food at half past ten on a Wednesday is optimistic.
Happy hour overlaps. The 2-for-1 runs 4pm to 6pm, so arriving early is cheaper as well as easier. See the list.

Yes, and that is not an afterthought. This has been a queer bar since 1994 — Africa’s first LGBTQI+ owned and operated bar and kitchen — and the door policy has never needed rewriting. Everyone is welcome. The community comes first. If you are a visitor, you are a guest in someone’s room and the room will be lovely to you as long as you understand that.
Birthdays, bachelorettes and work groups are common on a Wednesday and entirely welcome. Six or more, message ahead so we can put tables together. Larger than about twelve and it is worth talking to us about the space properly.
